CFTC: Speculative positioning reduced, led by gold and soybeans
Hedge Funds and other large speculators reduced their net-long exposure in 24 US traded commodity futures and options by 2.4 percent to 1,677,000 contracts during the week ending October 16 according to data from the CFTC. During the week both of the major commodity indices fell, primarily the DJ-UBS CI due to its bigger exposure to agriculture and metals. Fourteen out of the 24 commodities tracked in this report had their net exposure reduced.
- The metal sector, led by gold, saw its first reduction in nine weeks as it succumbed to profit taking.
- The net-long exposure to grains was reduced for the sixth week to the lowest level since June with the soybean complex experiencing the biggest reduction.
- Natural gas buying helped offset a small reduction in WTI crude oil and helped the energy sector, as the only one, to notch up a small increase in net-long positioning.
- Individual contracts with the biggest reductions were: Gold (-7%), Soybeans (-7%), Wheat (-9%) and Sugar (-19%).
- Individual contracts with the biggest increases: Lean Hogs (+42%), Cotton (+70%), Heating oil (+33%) and Natural gas. (+7%)

Gold held in ETFs see first reduction in three months
ETF investors followed futures traders in reducing their holdings in gold last week. The reduction of just 3.2 percent was the first reduction in 12 weeks and occurred as gold increasingly fell victim to buyers' fatigue as US economic data improved, thereby reducing one of the recent drivers for gold. Leveraged speculators in futures reduced their net-long exposure for the first time in eight weeks by 7.3 percent which all in all led to a combined reduction of 62 metric tonnes to 3,280.
Silver has also seen reduction in both ETF holdings and speculative positioning through futures. The latter remains elevated after having more than doubled in just eight weeks and it has left silver more exposed during this current correction phase.

No i bundy wystartowały. Ciekawe czy dziennikarze zrobią sobiue nowy temat o apokalipsieBONDS: German government bonds are trading moderately higher Monday as risk-off sentiment dominates as stocks trade lower following disappointing US earnings and lack of progress on a banking union at the EU leaders summit last week, despite favourable outcome in Spanish regional elections at the weekend. Spain's ruling PP party won the elections in Galicia on Sunday whilst the Basque Nationalist Party PNV and the separatist party, EH Bildu came first and second, respectively in the Basque Country. The result is seen easing pressure on PM Rajoy ahead of further anti-austerity rallies. Analysts also say the election victory could ease an quicken moves to Spain requesting a full EU bailout. Attention now turns to Catalonia's regional election that is due to take place on Nov 25. Overnight, bear-steepening trades dominated US Treasuries in the Tokyo session, with decent volume selling reported from real money accounts in 10s & 30s. Key focus is on the FOMC meeting this week.

To może być bardzo ważne wydarzenie dla Hiszpanii i Europy. Nie okrzyczane przez dziennikarzy, takie ciche, spokojne.. suche. Wręcz do wiadomości.EU MORNING CALL - 22/10/12

Spain's ruling centre-right People's Party won a key regional election in Galicia according to exit polls. The People's Party is set to retain its absolute majority and government in Galicia with 39 to 42 seats in the regional parliament. While in Basque Country, the Basque nationalist PNV was set to win with 24 to 27 seats.
The German finance ministry is preparing a program for Greece to repurchase their own bonds, according to unsourced reports. The plan foresees Greece borrowing money from the ESM in order to buy back bonds at the current price. According to the report, the plan could save Greece EUR 40bln in debt. Greek finance minister Stournaras said Greece has covered “90%” of the ground it needs to in order to secure the disbursement of its next bailout tranche, worth EUR 31.5bln.

GOLD: COMEX futures up moderately in a bounce from Friday's sell-off
when prices moved to a 6-week low. By the end of the week, speculative
positions were at a 4-week low, say analysts at Barclays Capital, and
although physically backed ETP holdings eased from record highs, overall
metal held in trust remained close to its recent attained peak. Today's
weaker US dollar is helping it recover a bit, traders say, and US
stocks futures also are firmer. Dec gold last up $3.50 at $1727.50.
GOLD: Citi Research analysts said their long-term stop in the Dec gold
contract has been breached. In an emailed comment, they recommend
unwinding a long gold trade established May 31 and sell the Dec
contract at $1733.00, booking a new profit -- including rolls -- of
about 10.88%. They say they'll stand aside for now, but would likely be
buyers of gold around the $1650-$1675 area.

a słyszałeś o kredytach konsolidacyjnych?
