JAPAN STOCKS CLOSE: Japan's benchmark stock indices ended Thursday's session lower, but off the worst levels. The Nikkei 225 was lower by 1.05% at 8542.73. The broader-based TOPIX was lower by 5.48 points at 718.14. Preliminary volume in the Nikkei stocks totalled 1.169 bn shares, with 46 issues higher, 163 lower and 16 unchanged.
EURIBOR FUTURES: Market opens steady to lower, curve touch steeper on Thursday. Whites, Jun12 futures steady at 99.38, Sep12 steady at 99.465, Dec12 steady at 99.465 and Mar13 steady at 99.465. Reds (Jun13-Mar14) seen steady to 0.5bps higher, and Greens (Jun14-Mar15) steady to 0.5bps lower.
