Hello

EURO SUMMARY: Euro-dollar closed in NY Tuesday at $1.3656 as rate pulled back
from a late NY recovery high of $1.3673 on reaction to the Central Bank of
Turkey's rate hike, which had relieved pressure on general EM. Euro-dollar had
earlier reacted to the release of weak US durable goods data by spiking up to
$1.3686 before it pulled back to $1.3653 during the NY afternoon. Euro-dollar
recovered off its initial CBT react low as risk sentiment improved, with a
recovery in euro-yen (RM demand) leading the way. Euro-dollar bounced to $1.3668
before euro-yen reversed and pressed it to fresh overnight lows of $1.3648. Rate
again picked up decent demand into the dip, recovering to $1.3664 into Europe.
Early Europeans extended this recovery to $1.3685 through the morning, as
markets again turned against the Try with the euro seeing some safe haven flows,
but cross action also provided counters (again via euro-yen) that eased rate
back to $1.3670 late morning. Cross plays continue to keep euro-dollar hemmed
in. Focus will turn toward this evening's FOMC announcement with most expecting
further tapering though some look for comment on the action's effects on EM.

STERLING SUMMARY: Cable closed in NY Tuesday at $1.6573 after rate had recovered
off a post UK GDP low of $1.6536 to $1.6615 (though failed to retest earlier
European highs of $1.6627) before it eased to $1.6564 during the NY afternoon.
Rate recovered late on to $1.6585 before drifting off into the close as traders
adjusted positions into the Turkish central bank announcement. Cable extended
this corrective pullback to $1.6562 in early Asia as traders evaluated the CBT
decision to hike interest rates above expected levels. The move provided a boost
to risk and saw cable recover in Asia to $1.6588 before it settled between
$1.6570/80 ahead of Europe. Euro-sterling consolidated between stg0.82345-0.8248
having extended its corrective pullback off recent highs of stg0.8305 to
stg0.8223 Tuesday. Release of strong Nationwide house data into early Europe
provided cable with an added boost, taking it to an initial high of $1.6595,
extending on to $1.6606 before momentum faded. Cable then eased to $1.6580, as
euro-sterling edged to stg0.82505, but sterling demand into the dips allowed
cable to nudge back toward $1.6600, the cross to ease to stg0.8241, late
morning. FOMC at 1900GMT now in clear focus.

YEN SUMMARY: Dollar-yen gapped from Y102.95 to Y103.45 in late NY after the
Turkish central bank hiked rates aggressively. Strong offers ahead of Y103.50
capped the topside in early Asia and the pair drifted lower. Euro-yen spiked
from Y140.73 to Y141.26 on the move, however with lack of follow through fresh
supply emerged to add weight. The cross made a show back under Y141.00 to
Y140.77, before dip demand cushioned, dollar-yen found support ahead of Y103.00
and the pairs staged a recovery to Y103.30/Y141.20. Risk appetite continued in
early European trade, dollar-yen extended the slow grind to Y103.36, before
profit take sales eased. A spike in usd-try to near record highs was the
catalyst and this followed a fresh round of pressure on EM'S as investors once
again looked to the safe-haven yen. Dollar-yen slipped sharply through Y103.00
to extended lows of Y102.77, taking out tech support from Ichimoku cloud top on
the move. Euro-yen fell in tandem back through Y141.00 to Y140.56 and holds
heavy at typing. Support seen into Y140.50, ahead of Y140.35 (Ichimoku cloud
top). Bounces remain shallow as focus turns to to the FOMC later today where
it's expected to announce a further $10bn taper.
