POLAND: Poland comes to the bond issuance market on Thursday with plans to
re-open 10-year 4.00 Oct 2023 and tap 12-year Jan 2024 floating rate note for
between PLN3.0bln to PLN5.0bln. The National Bank of Poland (NBP) left interest
rates unchanged at their MPC meeting Wednesday as widely expected. Some
economists though are seeing a high possibility of a 50bp rate cut within the
next 3-months which could lead to high demand at today's auction. For comparison
the 4.00% Oct 2023 bond was last tapped on Jan 3, where NBP sold PLN3.179bln at
average yield 3.487% and cover 1.35 times. As for the tap of 12-year Jan 2024
floating rate note, this was last sold as part of a bond switch on Mar 7 where a
total of PLN2.342bln was sold. The last outright auction was on Feb 13, where
PLN612mln was sold at average price of 0.9875% and cover 3.22 times. Bids have
to be submitted to the National Bank of Poland by 0900GMT on auction date, with
results published at 1000GMT. Auction settlement is T+2, while non-competitive
bids have to be placed by 1200GMT on auction day, with results expected at
1215GMT.
