General Comments: Prices closed higher as the situation in Ukraine deteriorated. Russia was accused of firing shells into Ukraine from their side of the border, and the Ukraine government collapsed. All in all the risk of interrupted exports increased. World prices overall have been steady to weaker. Reports of too much rain in Western Europe and reports that the crop there is losing quality and could grade Feed have provided a little support. Demand for US Wheat is not real strong right now, but could improve if the world needs more high quality Wheat and the EU crop loses more quality. World Wheat growing conditions remain good, but Australia is worried about dry conditions in eastern areas. There are still down side price pressures from Russia, and ideas are that Ukraine will need to sell soon. Europe is also at harvest and is looking for buyers and has seen somewhat higher prices as some rains have interrupted the harvest and created some quality concerns. Those quality concerns are growing as the rains continue. Spring Wheat crops in Europe and Russia appear good. Spring crops in the US and Canada appear very good, although parts of Canada have seen some losses from too much rain earlier in the year The charts show that Wheat prices are as cheap as they have been for the last few years and that more of a price rebound is possible.
